THE BALTIMORE SUN

A 17-year-old Churchton youth was being held without bond at the county jail after being charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a 32-year-old Edgewater man.

Roger Dewey Brown was charged as an adult in connection with the shooting that occurred about 9:40 p.m. Friday.

According to police reports, a gunman ambushed Earl Spencer Lucas in the 300 block of Center St. and shot him four times in the arm and leg. Mr. Lucas ran into an apartment, where residents called police.

Mr. Lucas was treated at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and released.

The shooting may have stemmed from a previous argument, police said.

Pair charged in vandalism

Police arrested an adult and a juvenile Sunday and charged them with breaking into four cars parked in Annapolis.

Claudius Wallace Jr, 18, of the 1100 block of Eastport Terrace and a 17-year-old youth were each charged with four counts of theft and four counts of destruction of property. They were released on their own recognizance.

They were arrested after witnesses called police with a report of thieves breaking into a car, according to police.

Four cars parked in the area of Gotts Court had been broken into and their radios and tape decks removed.
