Brugger elected president of GLBH Foundation

George A. Brugger was elected president of the Greater Laurel Beltsville Hospital Foundation in January. He succeeded Alfred H. Smith Jr. of Citizens Bank of Maryland and A. H. Smith Associates.

Mr. Brugger began serving on the board as its vice president when it was formed in 1991.

As president he will oversee all foundation board meetings and will be responsible for the management and direction of the business of the foundation.

A graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, Mr. Brugger is president and senior partner of Fossett and Brugger, a law practice concentrating in real estate development throughout the Baltimore and Washington corridor.

In addition to serving on the hospital foundation board, Mr. Brugger has served as co-chairman of the hospital's first annual ball in 1990. He also participates in numerous civic and charitable organizations in the community. He serves as director of the Suburban Maryland Building Industry Association and the Prince George's Economic Development Corporation and is a board member of the Prince George's Chamber of Commerce.
