TI raises forecast for chip sales

Texas Instruments Inc. yesterday raised its forecast for semiconductor sales in 1994, saying the world market would grow by 17 percent to $91 billion from $77 billion in 1993. Analysts said the upgraded forecast reflected booming sales of personal computers, but it may be a conservative estimate and should mean a good year for the chip maker.
