Two chimney fires that broke out within 11 minutes and two blocks of each other kept firefighters from Lineboro, Manchester, Hampstead, and Glen Rock and Pleasant Hill of Pennsylvania busy for almost two hours Monday night.
At 8:05 p.m. the units were dispatched for a chimney fire in a house in the 4100 block of York Road No. 1. The first fire officer quickly went through the building to determine there was no spread of the flames into the house beyond the chimney.
At 8:16 p.m. a call was received for a chimney fire in a house in the 4700 block of Water Tank Road. The location of the second fire would normally call for the same engines to respond, so two pieces of equipment from the York Road call were released to go to the Water Tank Road fire.
No one was injured in either of the fires.
Units were out for one hour and 39 minutes on the York Road blaze and 57 minutes on the Water Tank Road fire.
The incidents were the 84th and 85th chimney fires since Oct. 1 in Carroll County.
