Senior guard Yolanda Ray scored a game-high 23 as Navy edged Bucknell, 73-71, in a Patriot League women's basketball game yesterday at Alumni Hall. Ray hit eight of 10 shots, including two of three three-pointers.
Ray also anchored the defense with six steals and six blocks.
Freshman guard Kim Jackson gave out a game-high 11 assists and grabbed six rebounds for host Navy (9-13, 5-6). K.C. Vlah and Casey Hollister scored 15 apiece for Bucknell, which shot 33 percent from the floor.
Bucknell, however, out-rebounded Navy 42-38 and forced 22 turnovers.
Frederick 70, Anne Arundel 65
FREDERICK -- Theresa Arnette had 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists to lead Frederick Community College (16-3) past previously undefeated Anne Arundel CC (14-1).
Lindee Sisk had a game-high 19 in a losing effort for the Pioneers.
Hagerstown 53, Essex 51
Amber Crawford led a balanced Hagerstown CC offense with 13 points as the Hawks (5-14) turned away host Essex CC. Three Hagerstown players scored in double digits.
