I don't know how much more I can stand having my two kids at home with me. How many games can one play? How many cookies can one bake? I don't want to find out.
So a plea to whomever annoyed Mother Nature: kiss and make up, please.
The snow and ice put the skids on the Crofton Athletic Council's final walk-in registration for spring sports last Saturday.
Don't fret, though, because the council has rescheduled registration for Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Crofton Elementary School.
** The PTA also is sponsoring a St. Patrick's Day dance and silent auction from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. March 12 in the new hall at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Tickets are $15 per person and will include beer, wine and setups. Disc jockey Classic Gold will provide the music.

The Crofton Scrabble Club has changed its meeting place on the fourth Friday of the month. The group will meet in the Community Room at Market Place Mall on Route 450 and Superior Lane in Bowie.
The club still meets at the same location on the second Friday of the month -- at Davidsonville's Holy Family Catholic Church. New members are always welcome. Play at both locations begins at 7:30 p.m.

"For the Love of Dance," an award-winning dance group from Bowie/Crofton is holding auditions tomorrow at the Multi-Sport Sports School on Route 3. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. and auditions will begin at 6:45 p.m.
Performers must have experience in jazz, ballet or lyrical dance.

County State's Attorney Frank Weathersbee and challenger Republican John Greiber will be the guest speakers on Monday at the monthly meeting of the Crofton Chapter of United We Stand. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the Crofton Library.

The Chesapeake Treasures, the local chapter of the Smocking Arts Guild of America, meets on the second Tuesday of each month, from September to June, at 7 p.m. at Crofton Middle School.
SAGA was established to promote smocking and fine hand sewing. The group is displaying its needlework this month at Crofton Library.

The Bowie-Crofton Business and Professional Women will award two scholarships at its March 13 fashion show at Bowie City Hall. A working woman's scholarship will be awarded to a woman living in the Bowie-Crofton-Mitchellville area. The woman must work full time and attend or plan to attend college for career advancement.
The Gayle London Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior from the Bowie-Crofton-Mitchellville area who is a full-time student at a Maryland college. The application deadline is March 1.

Don't forget the Crofton Civic Association's second dance to help kick off its 30th anniversary. The country western dance is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Feb. 26 at the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department on Route 424.
