William Richard Bollinger, 50, of Taneytown, whose bond on charges of attempted first-degree murder and related offenses was reduced from $200,000 to $150,000 by Judge Francis M. Arnold on Wednesday, was released from the detention center that evening, according to court records.
Mr. Bollinger is accused of shooting his former girlfriend, Faye Virginia Glass, 34, at her Keysville Road home on Oct. 20.
Ms. Glass was shot in the upper left chest, just above the heart, and taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. She was released after treatment.
Other charges placed against Mr. Bollinger included assault with intent to murder, assault, battery and breaking and entering.
According to police reports, Ms. Glass was in bed, after seeing her two daughters off to school, when Mr. Bollinger allegedly broke into the house and beat her before firing two shots at her.
One shot struck the woman and the second went into the ceiling.
