Woman charged with forgery jjTC


A Westminster woman was being held in the Carroll County Detention Center yesterday on $15,000 bond after being charged Tuesday with forging checks for a total of $350.

Sandra Duncan, 32, of the first block of W. Main St. was charged with forging the name of others on checks cashed in November and December.

City police said the woman, who also used the name of Sandra Smith, is charged with forgery, uttering, theft by conspiring with another to commit the forgery and theft by scheming with another to pass the checks.

F: Police are searching for the second person, they said.


* Westminster: A resident of South Court Street told city police that someone removed her checkbook from her house Tuesday.

A Barnhart Road resident reported that someone stole his University of Michigan jacket from the City Recreation Center on Longwell Avenue on Tuesday. The jacket, valued at $100, has "Wolverines" lettering on each sleeve.

A resident of Fitzhugh Avenue reported that her automobile was burglarized while it was parked at the 140 Village Shopping Center on Tuesday. Several items, worth a total of $390, were stolen, the woman told police.


* Westminster: Westminster and Pleasant Valley responded for a van fire on Airport Drive at 8:04 a.m. Wednesday. Units were out for 24 minutes.
