Health advocacy program expands operations, hours


The Senior Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP), sponsored by the Howard County Office on Aging, has expanded to the Savage-Laurel area and will have monthly hours at the Southeastern Health Center, 9525 Durness Lane, Laurel.

Counselors will be available each third Monday of the month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Next month, assistance will be available Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Any senior having problems with health insurance will be able to get help from a HICAP counselor. To request an appointment time, call Jeanette Krapcho at 313-7212.


* North Laurel: 9200 block of Livery Lane: Cash was stolen from a home Tuesday after the resident left the house unlocked while running an errand, police said.

* Jessup: 8300 block of Bristol Court: A white 1993 Isuzu NB200 with Maryland tags 077767 was stolen Wednesday or Thursday. Police said the vehicle, which belonged to an automobile business, was loaded with auto parts.
