Hampstead to buy car, radios for police, photos

The Hampstead Town Council will use part of last year's budget surplus to buy pictures and police equipment.

The town will buy photos of past and present mayors for display at the town hall, along with a 1994 Ford Crown Victoria and three radios for the local police department.

Mayor C. Clinton Becker said the surplus is more than $50,000.

The car and radios will cost about $25,000, and the pictures will cost $1,000 to $2,000, Mr. Becker said.

The council decided not to vote on buying a street sweeper until it gets more information on the price.
