Outlook: The Capitals return to the ice after Thursday's well-played 1-0 loss to the Rangers. Washington lost its only previous meeting with the Penguins, 3-2 on Nov. 18. Pittsburgh beat Boston, 4-3, Thursday. The Caps will be without G Rick Tabaracci (sprained right wrist, day-to-day) and D Kevin Hatcher (broken hand). RW Peter Bondra (broken left hand) and D Al Iafrate (sprained right knee) also are day-to-day. G Olie Kolzig was recalled from AHL Portland because of Tabaracci's injury.
