School: Mount Hebron High School
Hometown: Ellicott City
Accomplishments: Scott serves as co-president of Students for Environmental Awareness and vice president of the National Honor Society. He was a captain of the school cross country team and has been on class board for four years. He is currently the senior class representative to the school Student Government Association.
Scott also has held onto a 4.0 GPA through high school and has been named a Maryland Distinguished Scholar finalist. He also has participated in numerous school plays and performed the lead role his sophomore year in a murder mystery drama.
In addition, he is working on an independent research project with four other students to help farmers use satellite data to better manage their land.
Outside of school, he is part of the Race Pace Specialized Cycling Team as a junior rider. He won second place in the Maryland-Delaware district criterion in Bowie and third place in a district road race in Mt. Airy.
Plans: Scott wants to study biophysics or biomechanics in college.
His comments: "I really think people need to be more aware of their surroundings and how to better manage their surroundings. . . . We have to conserve if we're going to save anything for our children and our grandchildren."
