Suspect in fatal crash says he's an illegal alien

The teen who allegedly caused a double-fatal accident

Saturday while driving drunk is an illegal alien from Mexico, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday.

The 17-year-old boy, who has not been identified by name, speaks broken English and has told police that he is in the United States illegally, said Cpl. Tom Wagner, a spokesman for the Anne Arundel County police department.

Police said the youth was driving a stolen car at 3:45 a.m. Saturday when he crossed the center line on Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard near Belle Grove Road, between Brooklyn Park and Linthicum Heights, and hit another car.

The other driver, Rachelle Lynn Sargent, 21, of the 1000 block of Little Baer Court, Ferndale, and her front-seat passenger, Scott Lyle Reagan, 22, of the 100 block of Furnlea Drive, Glen Burnie, were killed.

Two back-seat passengers were seriously injured and were taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Jennifer Rebecca Myers, 20, of the 300 block of Regency Circle, Linthicum, was listed in fair condition last night, while Michael Scott Fauceglio, 23, of the 100 block of Andel Court, Ferndale, was listed in serious condition.

The teen-ager also was admitted to Shock Trauma, but authorities there would not release his condition. Police said he will be charged with driving while intoxicated, vehicular manslaughter and unauthorized use of a vehicle when he is released from the hospital.
