Bristol Green

1. Bozzuto Homes received approval from the Howard County Planning Board on Nov. 20 to build 120 condos at Bristol Green in Columbia.

Construction is scheduled to begin next month.

On Dobbin Road just north of Route 175, Bristol Green will be about two miles from Interstate 95. The community will also have easy access to shopping at Snowden Center and Dobbin Center. Columbia Restaurant Park and Columbia Supreme Sports Club are nearby.

Plans call for a variety of two- and three-bedroom condominiums with prices starting at about $90,000. All homes will have gas heat and hot water and raised panel doors. Several models, including the three-bedroom SpringHouse, offer an eat-in kitchen and traditional bay windows.

Willows of Rocky Gorge

2. Chateau Builders Inc. has announced plans to build The Willows of Rocky Gorge on 23 acres along Route 216, east of U.S. 29 in Howard County.

Forty-one traditional, luxury single-family homes are planned for The Willows, according to Richard Azrael, company president. Chateau expects construction to begin in about 18 months.

The southern portion of The Willows borders on Rocky Gorge State Park.

3. Patuxent Land Co., creators of Triadelphia Woods, has announced the preview opening of Spring Valley Chase, a custom home community in Howard County.

In Marriottsville near Interstate 70 and Route 32, Spring Valley Chase has 25 homesites that are three acres or larger. Both wooded and cleared lots are available.

An on-site information center is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. It is located near the new Mount View Middle School.

Red Fox Farm

4. Sterling Homes has opened the final phase at Red Fox Farm, where the company is building one- and two-bedroom condominiums. Forty-eight homes will be built in this section.

A 707-square-foot, one-bedroom home with one full bath, a living/dining combination, patio or deck, and laundry room with hookups is priced at $66,900. Move up to a one bedroom with den and you pay $71,900 for 789 square feet of living space.

A two-bedroom, two-full-bath unit with 1,100 square feet sells for $83,400. The most expensive unit goes for $84,900. Within its 1,050 square feet are two bedrooms, two full baths, a wood-burning fireplace and a soaking tub in the master bath.

The monthly $80 condo fee covers the water bill, fire insurance, grass cutting, snow and trash removal, exterior and hallway maintenance and a secured front door.

Red Fox Farm backs to Gunpowder Falls State Park. The sales center is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Take I-695 to Exit 31 North (Harford Road) to a right on Joppa Road, then left on Seven Courts Drive and right on Proctor Lane. Follow sign to Red Fox Farm.

5. Trafalgar House Residential Maryland will open the third section of Mayfair in Timonium at the end of the month. Forty-one single-family Colonial homes will be built in the enclave which is located opposite Baltimore Country Club.

The Jamestown, a 3,000-square-foot colonial with four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, living room, dining room and 19- by-15-foot family room with wood-burning fireplace is the only model open at Mayfair.

Standard features include a kitchen with cooking island, breakfast room, first-floor laundry room, 9-foot ceilings on the main level, living and dining rooms, a brick front and cathedral ceiling and his and her walk-in closets in the master bedroom.

Hardwood floors in the two-story foyer and powder room, a brick front, a soaking tub and separate shower in the master bath and an unfinished basement are included.

The model includes a 12-by-11-foot library on the first floor which raises the price of the Jamestown to $304,900. Eliminate it and you can buy this house for $279,900. Trafalgar will pay $10,000 toward closing costs.
