'HALLELUJAH,' WITH A BANG
The Handel Choir of Baltimore spreads some holiday cheer with a free performance of Christmas music at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Harborplace Amphitheatre.
You'll hear songs from "Messiah" as well as traditional favorites, such as "Deck the Halls," "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Silent Night." The harmonies culminate with a mini-fireworks display choreographed to the "Hallelujah Chorus."
In case of rain, the concert will move indoors to the Light Street Pavilion.
Kids are invited to put crayon to paper in a competition sponsored by the Babe Ruth Museum, 216 Emory St. Kids will make birthday cards in honor of the baseball legend's 99th birthday. Children can go to the museum any day through Jan. 30 to make their colorful salutes, which will be judged in three age groups: 3 to 6, 7 to 9, and 10 to 12. (Supplies will be provided by the museum.)
Among the prizes are a youth membership to the museum, a free children's birthday party, books, T-shirts and posters. Winners will be announced at the museum's annual, free, Babe Ruth birthday bash on Feb. 6. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Information: 727-1539.
Take the kids to see a children's version of the "Nutcracker Suite," performed by the Bob Brown Puppeteers at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the National Aquarium. Admission: $5 for members, $8 for nonmembers. Information: 576-3800.
