* K-2 boys -- Kevin Teal and Ryan Bauer each scored four points to pace the Owls' 13-9 victory over the Eagles in St. John's Basketball League action last week. Matt Laumann scored five for the Eagles.
The Heat outlasted the Spurs, 10-8, as Dustin Smith paced the winners with six points. The Spurs' Dean Tolson and James Cotterman each tallied four.
Brandon Reisdorf scored six points as the Lions topped the Panthers, 16-6. Travis Barone scored four for the Panthers.
The Lions beat the Cavs, 4-2. Peter Wolfinger and Dave Davenport scored the Lions' baskets and Bryce Geiman scored the Cavs' points.
The Hornets thumped the Terrors, 17-4, behind Matt Schaffer's eight points.
* Grades 3-4 boys -- Matt Baisamo had eight points to lead the Spurs' 9-8 win over the Celtics. Paul Smith had four for the Celtics.
Stephen Evans scored three points as his Pistons topped the Rockets, 9-4.
The Jazz and Nets played a 15-15 tie. Patrick D'Anthony scored six points for the Jazz and Antoine Magruder had six for the Nets.
The Sonics stopped the Knicks, 18-12, as Scott Laczkowski paced the winners with eight points. Jason Tegarden had four for the Knicks.
The Terps outscored the Suns, 28-21. Brandon Duke had a game-high nine points for the Terps. Clint Stone and Josh Schonberger had eight and six points, respectively.
* Grades 5-6 boys -- St John's pulled away in the second half to beat St. Joseph's, 41-29, in the championship game of the Carroll County Boys Basketball League B Division Holiday Tournament.
St. John's (3-0 in the tourney) outscored the Blue Devils, 17-10, in the third quarter to break open a close game.
Bob Fisher's 15 points led St. John's, and John DeCesare, Marty Kwedar and Dwayne Magruder each added six. Jonathan Tissue scored 10 points for St Joseph's and Sean Burke added six.
The consolation game saw Westminster trounce Gamber-Smallwood, 41-18. Jon David Byers paced the Owls with 11 points and Nick Hohenwarter added seven. Gamber's Doug Steigerwald had six points.
St. Joseph's nipped Westminster, 38-37, in its semifinal game. Burke scored 10 points for St. Joseph's, and Michael Bowers and Tissue each added nine. Byers and Hohenwarter had 13 and 10, respectively, for Westminster.
St John's gained entry into the finals by topping Gamber-Smallwood, 36-24. Magruder's 11 points paced the winners. Fisher had eight and DeCesare chipped in with six. Corey Chaney scored six points for Gamber.
Gamber bested North Carroll in its opener, 36-30. Justin Calderon scored nine points for the winning Gators and Russell Davenport added seven. Billy Hammond had a game-high 12 points for North Carroll and Justin Watts added 10.
St. John's opened by beating Winfield, 34-26. The winners led 27-13 after three quarters, and held off Winfield in the final period. Fisher scored eight points and DeCesare had six. Derek Boswell had eight for Winfield.
Byers scored 20 points and Raheim Warfield had 12 as Westminster tripped the Woodbine Rebels, 44-11. Tayon Saunders scored seven for the Rebels.
St. Joseph's pulled steadily ahead to thump Taneytown, 46-23. Burke, Bowers and Chaz Loskarn shared St. Joseph's high-scoring honors with eight points apiece.
Kody Jenkins scored a game-high 10 for Taneytown and Lester Dietz added eight.
North Carroll outscored Winfield, 32-28, in its opening game. Dan Stansbury and Boswell each scored eight for the winning Warriors, who pulled out to a 20-10 halftime lead and held off North Carroll in the late stages of the game.
Mark Winemiller scored 10 for North Carroll and Charles Devilbiss scored nine.
Taneytown exploded in the final quarter to beat Woodbine, 33-29, in its opening tournament game.
Woodbine led throughout the game and held a 24-18 lead entering the fourth quarter. Taneytown though, outscored the Rebels, 15-5 in the final stanza, to pull out the win.
Dietz's 15 led Taneytown and Jason Little added 10. Saunders' 10 points and Sautter's six paced Woodbine.
* Junior girls -- Westminster I trailed Mount Airy 2-1 at halftime but rolled after intermission to win, 15-4, in the Carroll County Girls Basketball League Christmas Tournament last week.
Meredith Carter scored six points, all in the second half, to pace Westminster. Laura Yingling added four for the winners.
* Senior girls -- Westminster III jumped to a 13-0 lead after the first quarter and went on to beat North Carroll, 41-16. Mary Dickensheets and Paulette Smith each scored 10 points for Westminster.
Stephanie Zarriello scored 20 points in Westminster II's 43-21 win over St. Johns' II.
Westminster III jumped to a 14-4 lead after the first quarter and went on to beat St. John's I, 46-22. Smith and Dickensheets paced the Westminster attack with 10 points apiece. Nicole DePaola scored nine for St. John's.
Sindi Stem scored 12 points to pace Westminster I's 44-6 win over New Windsor.
Westminster I topped North Carroll, 39-20. Stem scored 12 points for the winners and Erin Carter added 10.
Stacey Albert had five points for North Carroll and Jessica Bradford and Sarah Redner each added four.
Shawn Kyle scored his second touchdown of the game to give the Black team a 19-18 win over Green at Eldersburg's Supersports Indoor Arena.
The victory gave Black the regular-season title. Shane McQuay scored Black's other touchdown. Alex Arthur, Derrick Jeffries and Buddy Collins had touchdowns for Green.
