Regulations approved for sandwich boards


The Westminster City Council approved regulations governing sandwich board signs on city sidewalks at Monday night's meeting.

The council banned neon, flashing lights and fluttering flags, but will allow merchants to illuminate the signs with constant burning lights. Violators will be asked to bring signs into line with city regulations or remove them.


* Westminster: An official of Caldor department store at Cranberry Mall reported someone stole articles valued at $246 on Nov. 28.

A resident of West Main Street told police someone stole her purse containing $30 while she was at a bar on West Main Street on Saturday.

An official of Jiffy Lube at Cranberry Square reported someone stole about $120 in coins Saturday.

A resident of West Green Street told authorities someone threw a rock through the front window of her home Saturday, doing damage estimated at $50.

A resident of the Middlebrooke development reported someone stole the hubcaps from his car while it was parked at his house Saturday. The loss is estimated at $100.
