Ideas for the reconstruction of Westminster's Pennsylvania Avenue will be on display for the public at an open house tomorrow.
Representatives of the State Highway Administration (SHA) and West Main Street/Pennsylvania Avenue project task force will explain concept plans, listen to comments and answer questions.
The program is scheduled at 7 p.m. at the Westminster Fire Company social hall on East Main Street.
The SHA plans to reconstruct Pennsylvania Avenue from Union Street to Sullivan Avenue in 1995. The project is scheduled to begin after road work is completed on East Main Street.
Local members of the task force have been working with SHA officials to plan the project for about a year.
State agency representatives plan to give a brief overview, then answer questions and receive comments, said Dan Ubersax, SHA landscape architect.
Thomas B. Beyard, Westminster public works and planning director, said the task force will review comments received at the open house, then make recommendations on the design to the City Council. With council approval, SHA engineers will draft construction drawings.
