Mount St. Mary's tops Howard, 73-54


EMMITSBURG -- Heather Wable scored 16 points and Allyn Lewis added 10, including six in a crucial stretch late in the first half, to lead Mount St. Mary's (2-1) to a 73-54 victory over Howard last night.

The Mountaineers played most of the game without leading scorer Susie Rowlyk, who was in foul trouble the entire game and had just two points in 10 minutes.

Senior Maggie Meagher had 11 points, all from the foul line, and freshman Amy Langville had four points, eight assists and seven rebounds in her first career start.

George Mason 89, Loyola 50

FAIRFAX, Va. -- Marcell Harrison scored a game-high 26 points to lead George Mason (2-4) over Loyola (0-5) at the Patriot Center.

Patty Stoffey led Loyola with 19.
