Motel bookkeeper robbed near bank


A bookkeeper for a Ritchie Highway motel was robbed of the establishment's money bag Wednesday as she was walking across the parking lot of a Glen Burnie bank, county police said.

Officers said Janet Dawn Sands, 33, who works at the Holiday Inn North on Ritchie Highway, was walking toward the Second National Bank in the 500 block of E. Ordnance Road shortly before 1:30 p.m. when a man knocked her down, grabbed the bag and fled.

Three men arrested on cocaine charges

County police arrested three Glen Burnie men on drug charges Wednesday after undercover officers arranged to buy crack cocaine.

Brian Orlando George, 21, of the 6400 block of Goldberg Circle was charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute after he allegedly met the detectives at a 7-Eleven store in Linthicum and showed them suspected crack, police said. Kevin Marice Dukes, 21, of the 6400 block of Miami Ave. and Donald Jerome Jackson, 26, of the first block of Warfield Road, both of Glen Burnie, who were with Mr. George, were charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

According to the police report, Mr. George arrived at the store at Ritchie Highway and Belle Grove Road at 9:15 p.m. with the other men. As he allegedly showed the officers the suspected drugs, they identified themselves and arrested him.

Gunman robs arcade at Marley Station mall

A gunman stole an undisclosed amount of money from the Champions Arcade in Marley Station mall Wednesday evening, county police said.

Investigators said the bandit walked into the arcade at 6:50 p.m. and showed the clerk a gun inside his jacket. He ordered the clerk to the back room and demanded money. The clerk gave the robber an undisclosed amount of cash and he left the store.
