Drug charges filed after loud party


For the second time in a week, county police went to an apartment in the 300 block of Gateway Court and lodged drug charges against the occupants.

Police said they received a complaint about a loud party at 11:19 p.m. Monday. From outside the residence, officers said they could smell marijuana and see about 15 people in the apartment drinking.

Inside, police officers reported, they saw what appeared to be marijuana flakes and seeds on a washing machine. They charged the apartment's occupants, Thomas Bennoit, 20, and Shelby Kendall Vick, 21, with having a disorderly house, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police were also at the residence a week ago Monday, responding to complaints of the odor of marijuana coming from the apartment. They charged eight people that night, including Mr. Bennoit and Mr. Vick, with possession of marijuana.

Chester woman robbed of bank deposit bag

A 33-year-old Chester woman was knocked to the ground and robbed of a $1,700 bank deposit at 1:25 p.m. yesterday in a parking lot in the 500 block of E. Ordnance Road.

Police said the woman had just gotten out of her car when she was knocked down. Her assailant fled with a cash deposit was from a Holiday Inn.

Thieves take property from cars at Gerard Plaza

Thieves struck twice in Gerard Plaza over the weekend, stealing CB radios and other property from parked cars.

They broke into a 1991 Dodge parked in the 200 block of Sandsbury Ave. between 8 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday and a 1992 Ford parked in the 2700 block of Finch Road between 6 p.m. Friday and 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

The property was valued at more than $900.


* Glen Burnie: Burglars smashed the front window of the High's store in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway and stole several cartons of cigarettes between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
