Principal to help with fund-raiser at McDonald's


Waugh Chapel Elementary School Principal Joyce Fink will step out from behind her desk tomorrow to take a spot at the counter at the Odenton McDonald's for "Principal's Night."

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Ms. Fink will be taking orders and serving up food to help her school raise money for programs. The school receives 20 percent of all sales for the night.

* The school also will be holding its winter program at 7 p.m. next Monday. The chorus, band and strings will perform.

Santa's workshop will arrive at Odenton Elementary School tonight and stay through Thursday.

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., parents are invited to bring their children to shop along with them. Crafts, books and other items will be available, including free gift wrapping.

Three students from MacArthur Middle School were recently named to the 1993-1994 all-county Middle/Junior High Honor Chorus: Carolyn Grodt, Jacob Sperry and Jennie Thornton.

These students will be performing in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Severna Park High School.


Nichols Bethel United Methodist Church in Odenton is very proud of its team of 11 trained acolytes who worship, learn and serve at both the 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. services. When they light the candles they are a reminder to the congregation that God is at home, school and work as well as in the worship service.

The 1993-1994 acolytes are: Seth Binfield, Danny Davis, Mark Gorman, Brad Hurst, Allyson Kendall, Scot Kendall, Amanda Mollet, Edward Nowottnick, Craig Roberts, Libby Wallace and Becky Williams.


The Fort Meade Retired Officers' Wives' Club will hold its Christmas Ball at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Fort Meade Officers' Club.
