Baltimore woman robbed in front of bank's ATM

A 39-year-old Baltimore woman was robbed in front of an automatic teller machine Wednesday afternoon by a man who threatened her with a sharp object, county police said yesterday.

Police said the woman had left a bank in the 5200 block of Ritchie Highway about 1:40 p.m. when a man came up behind her and poked a sharp object in her right side.

The man did not touch the woman's purse, but took money she had obtained from the bank machine, police said.

The robber is described as a black male with a dark complexion in his mid 30s, 5 feet 2 inches tall. He had a scraggly beard and a mustache and was wearing a green Army jacket and a black knit cap with holes.
