School's computers available to help with college searches


The Oakland Mills High School Guidance Resource Center will be open from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday to accommodate working parents of juniors and seniors who would like to conduct computer college and/or scholarship searches.

Parents may also use the center's other resources including college videotapes, viewbooks, catalogs and applications for Maryland schools.

The center, staffed by parent volunteers, is open to students weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

College videotapes, description and rating guides, PSAT, SAT, ACT and advanced placement self-help manuals are among the materials available.

* Long Reach: 6700 block of Old Waterloo Road: Neighbors told police they saw a man peering into a resident's back window early Tuesday morning.

7900 block of Rustling Bark: A man wearing pants with a patchwork design was seen masturbating in front of a vacant building Monday.

* Kings Contrivance: 10200 block of Old Columbia Road: A man, who was nude from the waist down, was seen masturbating while peering into a window Saturday.

Police said the man wore a red baseball cap, black face mask and sneakers.

* Owen Brown: 9000 block of Mendenhall Court: A 1992 Ford Van stolen from Total Care on Dobbin Road on Nov. 25 was found early Monday morning, police said.

* Scaggsville: Route 29/Route 216: Two youths, ages 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of trying to steal a 1990 Chevrolet from a Park and Ride lot Tuesday.
