A 17-year-old Ellicott City youth was arrested Monday for carrying a handgun to Howard High School, county police said.
A teacher saw the .25-caliber semi-automatic pistol fall from the student's pocket during gym class, police said. The boy was called to the office, where police said they confiscated the weapon and handcuffed him.
The student, who was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, was released to his parents.
