State Del. Marsha G. Perry, a District 33 Democrat, has been named honorary chairman of the Annapolis Salvation Army's 1993 Christmas Campaign.
This year's theme is "Working Miracles Every Day" and Salvation Army officials said they hope to raise $230,000 to help needy people during this holiday season.
"We need as much help as we can get," said Carolyn Sullivan, a spokeswoman for the Salvation Army.
The Annapolis Salvation Army chooses a well-known county individual to serve as honorary chairman for the holiday fund-raising campaign to help spread the Salvation Army's message, Ms. Sullivan said.
"Ms. Perry is a fine role model in both her political and professional life," said Capt. Walter Strong.
This season, the Salvation Army hopes to raise $50,000 in kettle donations and wants to collect 20,000 food items and 4,500 gifts for needy families. Information: 263-4091.
