The State Highway Administration today begins construction work on Interstate 97 between the New Cut Road interchange and Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard as part of the project to widen I-97 between Route 3 and the Beltway.
The work will lead to lane closings between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. tonight and tomorrow night along both the northbound and southbound lanes of I-97 to allow workers to move structural steel for the new Route 100 bridge over I-97.
Motorists are advised to use Route 648 to Route 3 to avoid the construction area.
