A North County cab driver was robbed at gunpoint by a passenger she picked up Wednesday afternoon at the Leedmark store on Ordnance Road, county police said.
Darlene Wilcox, 30, had driven the man to Cedar Avenue in Harris Heights when he asked her to turn around. As she did, the police report said, he took out a pistol and demanded money.
When Ms. Wilcox gave him money, he hit her in the back of the head with the gun and got out of the cab.
Baltimore men charged with Citgo break-in
County police charged two Baltimore men with breaking into a gas station yesterday morning.
Christopher Neal Yingling, 21, of the 2800 block of Ohio Ave., and John Salvatore Scafidi, 30, of the 600 block of Brian St., also were charged with theft.
According to police, the pair broke into the Citgo gas station in the 7400 block of Furance Branch Road at 3:44 a.m. Officers on patrol say they saw the men driving away in a black Corvette and ordered them to stop.
The driver pulled over and both men tried to run away, police said. Mr. Scafidi was caught by the officers and Mr. Yingling soon was caught in the woods by a police dog, police said.
