The North Carroll Panthers' 11-and-under team kept its playoff hopes alive by beating Reisterstown, 18-6.
The Panthers can clinch a playoff spot by beating Winfield Saturday.
North Carroll drove 70 yards on its first possession, with Eric Etzel going 1 yard to score.
The Panthers, behind a strong defense that recovered two fumbles, clung to their 6-0 lead at halftime.
They drove 55 yards on their first second-half possession to make it 12-0. Steve Suter ran 10 yards for that score.
Later in the third quarter, Chad Lettau got the Panthers' third fumble recovery. Several plays later, Jamie Murphy scored on a 55-yard end-around play to make it 18-0.
Danny Sorrells had 81 yards on 10 carries for North Carroll, Suter 72 yards on 12 carries and Etzel 60 on 16.
Center Timmy Grogg and guard Greg Delgarno provided strong blocking for North Carroll's running game. Tackle Eric Swedberg was outstanding on defense, with seven tackles and a fumble recovery for the Panthers.
Soccer Under-10 boys -- The North Carroll Rowdies gave up a late second-half goal in a 1-1 tie with Reisterstown.
Eric Zimmer scored the Rowdies' only goal early in the game.
North Carroll goalkeeper Ryan Myers played an outstanding game.
The South Carroll Greyhounds stayed in first place with a 1-0 win over Deer Park.
Ryan Cummings scored the Greyhounds' (6-0-2) lone goal.
The defense, anchored by fullbacks Matt McGuire, Jeremy Yeager and Andrew Bokman, along with keeper Andy Slater, played strong, preserving the win.
Under-10 boys -- The North Carroll Hurricanes improved to 6-4 by beating Charles Carroll, 2-0.
Jeff Mech scored two goals for the winners, one on a penalty kick.
Fullbacks Zachary Butler and Aaron Horner, along with goalkeeper Matt Myers, anchored North Carroll's defense.
Under-12 boys -- South Carroll beat Deer Park, 2-1, to improve its record at 3-3-1.
Kris Gooding scored both goals for the winners, and Jay Lanigan added an assist.
Cory Lawson and Joe Robitaille split time in goal for South Carroll.
Midfielders Jeff Hagood, Joe Beall and Zach Parker played outstanding games on offense and defense for South Carroll, which has won three of its past four games.
Sean Douglas scored Deer Park's goal.
The North Carroll Comets tied Reisterstown, 1-1.
Jamie Ayers had the Comets' goal with an assist from Joey Trapani. North Carroll goalkeeper Rusty Lamotte played an excellent game, stopping a second-half penalty kick that would have given Reisterstown the lead.
Under-12 boys -- First-place Freedom Fire won its ninth consecutive game, tripping Reisterstown, 4-2.
Pete Salvano scored twice for Freedom (9-0-1), and Beau Brooks and Ben Becker each added a goal.
Michael Jenkins, Danny Moody and Ryan Codd had assists for the winners, who led 4-0 by halftime.
Halfback Danny Kesler played well at both ends of the field for the Fire, and fullback Jimmy Fiori turned in an outstanding game for a Freedom defense that has been excellent all year. It has yielded only seven goals.
Under-14 boys -- The Freedom Strikers improved their A League-leading record to 8-0 by topping Westminster, 5-3.
Freedom's Tim Chairs and Mike Heck each scored to put their team ahead, 2-0. Jake Puckett's goal narrowed the gap to 2-1.
Chris Poklemba and Kevin Roy scored for a 4-1 Strikers lead. Brandon Severn scored for Westminster to make it 4-2, before Chairs scored his team-leading 25th goal to put it away for Freedom.
Trent Reightler's penalty kick accounted for Westminster's final score.
Strikers' keeper Adam Downes stopped a first-half penalty kick and allowed only one score in his half-game stint.
Greg Fisher and Ben Taylor played well for Westminster.
Tim Wilfong scored two goals, one on a penalty kick, to lead the North Carroll Strikers to a 2-0 win over Reisterstown.
Midfielder Danny Terlizzi was an outstanding player at both ends of the field for North Carroll.
Strikers sweeper Greg Miller led a defense that held a shutout despite playing a man short for 40 of the game's 60 minutes due to a player disqualification.
John Somers scored the game's only goal, as Freedom Football Club B team nipped South Carroll, 1-0.
Nick Outten and Micah Reese were stalwarts on defense for Freedom, and Craig Rauser and Bran Koslosky split duties in goal.
David Wynn scored three goals and Matt Towns added two more, to lead the Westminster Blue Devils (3-1-4) to a 7-0 victory over Charles Carroll.
Corey Shoenberger and Adam Silverman added goals. Halfback John Brownley did an excellent job of bringing the ball upfield.
The Blue Devils squad also was successful in the recent America's Cup soccer tournament in Columbia.
The Devils went 3-0-1 to win their under-14 B bracket.

Men's league -- The Westminster Wolves came back from a 2-0 deficit but lost, 4-3, in double-overtime to Walkersville.
Walkersville, from Frederick County, scored the tie-breaker on a penalty kick with a minute left in the second overtime period.
The Wolves scored three consecutive goals to take a 3-2 lead by halftime.
Ed DeVincent scored the first two goals and Joe Petrocino the third. Mike DeVincent, Junior Anderson and Andy White had assists.
