Driver in car crash charged with assault
A Glen Burnie man was charged with assault after police said he tried to run down a man on Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard Wednesday.
Police arrested Lawrence Timothy Harrell, 18, of the 7800 block of Bruton Court.
According to the police report, at 12:44 a.m., officers received a complaint about a reckless driver on Clara Circle near B&A; Boulevard. When they arrived, they saw a red Honda chasing a man down B&A; Boulevard.
Officers found Billy Grant, 22, of the 2500 block of Queens Chapel Road in Hyattsville, trying to hide between parked cars, the police report said.
Mr. Grant told the officers that he left Mr. Harrell's apartment after an argument. Mr. Harrell got into his car and chased Mr. Grant while screaming he was going to kill him, the police report said.
Mr. Harrell's car struck a telephone pole. Mr. Grant said he ran across the street, where Mr. Harrell tried to hit him again, the police report said.
Glen Burnie teen fights off attacker
A 17-year-old Glen Burnie girl fought off a man who attacked her as she walked on Brookwood Road Wednesday evening, county police reported.
Heather Lee Blake, of the 8300 block of Brookwood Road, told police a man walked up behind her at 9:55 p.m. and grabbed her head and pulled her down.
She kicked the man in the crotch and punched him the face, the police report said. The attacker fell, got up and ran toward Jumper's Hole Road, police said.
