E. P. Cornett Jr. Truck driver


E. P. Cornett Jr., a retired truck driver for Baltimore County, died Sunday of cancer at his home in Rural Retreat, Va.

He was 70.

Born in southwestern Virginia, he moved back to his boyhood hometown when he retired about 12 years ago.

Mr. Cornett worked for a construction company after moving to the Baltimore area as a young man.

Mr. Cornett lived in Essex and later in Cockeysville. He was a member of Cockeysville Baptist Church.

Graveside services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Gardens of Faith Cemetery, Lillian Holt Drive and Trumps Mill Road in the Overlea area.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Louise Cornett; a daughter, Barbara Price of Rural Retreat; two sisters, Mamie Slagle and Virgie Burris, both of Rural Retreat; a brother, Hobert, also of Rural Retreat; and four grandchildren.
