* Carroll County League -- Reisterstown topped Winfield, 20-13, in an 11-under contest.


Josh Rodriquez raced 55 yards on a first-half screen pass from Cavaliers quarterback Wes Sauter, for Winfield's first touchdown. He then ran in the extra point. He scored a second touchdown with less than a minute left in the game by scooting 70 yards on another screen pass.

Jason Wilder ran for three touchdowns and Lee Windsor threw for two more as the Sykesville Raiders blasted Westminster, 49-6, in a 13-14 game.


Windsor's 3-yard pass and Wilder's 12-yard run put Sykesville ahead 12-0 before Taiwan Veney got Westminster's only score with a 45-yard run.

But Sykesville's Tres Johnson bolted 16 yards for a touchdown, halfback Matt Deuchler flipped 1 yard to Greg Jones for another, and Wilder scored on a 70-yard punt return as Sykesville took a 31-6 lead by halftime.

Nose guard Matt Sargent raced 34 yards with a recovered fumble to score, Windsor hit Deuchler for 10 yards and Wilder raced 20 for the Raiders' three second-half touchdowns.

Wilder ended the day with 140 yards rushing.

Sykesville tackle Jesse Martin did a fine blocking job, and teammate Billy Franklin turned in a strong game at defensive end.

The Westminster Wildcats tied Sykesville for the top spot in the 10-under's Division I, by shuting out the Raiders, 6-0.

Dwayne Magruder scored the game's only touchdown on a fourth-quarter 12-yard run.

Tackle Mike Denmead threw a key block to open the way for Magruder, who gained 84 yards on 12 carries.


Wildcats defenders played key roles in the game, which left both teams at 5-1.

Corey Chaney's interception stopped one Sykesville drive and Rorey Howard recovered a fumble to stop another.

Linebacker Billy Sprague batted down a pass, and Howard, along with Justin Janowitz, got a key sack in stopping yet another Westminster drive.

Another Westminster standout was tackle Matt Farver, who had seven tackles.

Sykesville's 9-under team remained unbeaten with a 19-0 victory over Westminster.

Nick Sargent scored on a 5-yard run and a 45-yard pass from halfback Matt Eder. He also added a point-after run.


Jon Bruce romped 15 yards for a fourth-quarter Raiders touchdown.

Tackle David Reynolds, safety Mike Morley and linebacker Ryan Mullin led the defense for Sykesville, which improved to 6-0.

* Mountain-Valley League -- Damascus beat the Gamber-Smallwood junior varsity, 14-0.

Mustangs defensive end Mike Landau paced a spirited Gamber defense by forcing two fumbles.

He also stripped the ball from an opposing ball-carrier at the Mustangs' 1-yard line and fell on it to prevent a Damascus touchdown.



* Under-10 boys -- First-place Masimore Contractors, Inc., improved its North Carroll Youth Soccer League record to 7-0 with a 5-0 victory over Vision Arts.

Sean Ford and Matt Ayd each scored two goals for the winners and Steve Chaffman added one.

Kyle Reese had the game's only goal as North Carroll Physical Therapy nipped Uniform Graphix, 1-0.

Main Street Photographics edged Manchester Pharmacy, 3-2. Chris Piper scored twice for the winners and Chris Jones scored once.

* Under-12 boys -- First-place Sunshine Child Development improved to 6-1 in NCYSL play, by shutting out Westminster Bank, 2-0.

Mark Negman and Shawn Frank had the winners' goals.


Jason Werner scored two goals and Anthony Pacelli scored one to lead Pizza Garden to a 3-1 win over Farmers-Merchants Bank.

Funtimes Partyland used a balanced attack to beat Miller-Liberto, 5-1.

John Amoss, Bethany Reeb, Heather Calhoun, Chris Blankenship and Tim Cole had Funtimes' scores.

* Under-14 boys -- In other NCYSL action, Long-Foster shut out Dean's Restaurant, 5-0.

Joey Fritges had two goals and Corey Campbell, Jon Blum and Ryan Riddle each had one.

Towne Pride outscored Lamotte Development, 5-2. Matt Alban led the winners with two goals.


Teammates Regis D'Angelo, Nereida David and Grant Harvey each added one. Tom Bungay and Andrew McClean scored for Lamotte.

* Sandymount Seniors -- Will Woolford scored three times to lead the Red to a 5-1 victory over Green.

Todd Chaney and Sarah Bowen each added a goal for the Red. Clint Bobzien scored Green's goal.

Lite Blue got two goals from Dustin Burgess and one from Justin Boswell in a 3-1 victory over Gold.

Billy Arnold had a goal for Gold.

* Under-11 co-eds -- The Green Dragons held on to first place with a 7-2 win over Orange.


Ronnie Harris scored three times, and Ronnie Shriver twice for the winners.

Martin Dunphy and Andy Kuchera each added a score. Orange's Jared Imhoff scored twice.

Lite Blue edged Purple, 3-2, on a three-goal performance by Ryan Richards.

Morgan Bernstein, Lauren Welsh and Kristen Gombeski each had an assist for the winners. Jerry Laumann and James Morton scored for Purple.

The Flames routed the White Knights, 7-1. Derek Baumgardner led the Flames with three goals. Jason Gerrard and Tyler Ransley each added two. Matt Thompson had the Knights' goal.

Jason Holman's three goals powered Blue Thunder's comeback from a 2-0 deficit, and led the squad to a 3-2 win over the Red Fireballs.


Samantha Buchanan and Michael Baeder scored for the Fireballs.

* Mason-Dixon men's soccer -- In a battle of Carroll County teams, the Westminster Wolves beat the North Carroll Arrows, 5-1.

Rick Romeo, Ed DeVincent, Scott Myers, Nick Hailstone and Mike DeVincent scored for the Wolves, who led all the way. Ed DeVincent also had an assist for the Wolves, who are 5-2.

Kreg Keeney scored North Carroll's only goal on a pass from Marty Rill.
