Cheerleaders plan fund-raiser for trip to Dallas


The Centennial High School varsity cheerleading squad will be competing in the National Cheerleading Association's National Championships in Dallas Dec. 27-30.

To help defray the cost of the trip, an auction will be held featuring goods and services from local businesses. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12 in the school's auditorium.

Charlestown Community names medical director

The Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville has named Dr. Matthew Narrett of Ellicott City as Medical Center director.

Dr. Narrett received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and is board-certified in internal medicine.

Before going to Charlestown, Dr. Narrett was in private practice in Windham, N.H. He is on the faculty of Johns Hopkins University in the division of medicine.
