Contract opportunities at convention center
"What, When and Where" is the title of an Anne Arundel Trade Council program designed to alert minority and women business owners to contract opportunities connected with the expansion of the Baltimore Convention Center Expansion Project.
The program, set for 4 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Trade Council office, 1460 Ritchie Highway, Suite 209, in Arnold, will feature Kim I. McCalla, deputy project manager for the Maryland Stadium Authority.

Entries accepted for Silver Dome award
The Annapolis/Anne Arundel Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is accepting entries for the first Silver Dome Award, which will recognize the chief officer of a business, government agency, educational institution, trade association, nonprofit or charitable organization who recognizes the importance of and supports public relations.
Entries are due Nov. 1. The award will honor a person who has successfully overseen implementation of a specific public relations activity that took place between Sept. 1, 1992, and Aug. 31, 1993.
Publishers featured on cable program
The Anne Arundel Trade Council's monthly cable television program, "It's Good Business," is featuring a program on "Getting the News to You," featuring Robert Penick, associate publisher of The Sun for Anne Arundel County, and Robert Burdon, publisher of the Baltimore Business Journal.
The November program will feature "The Impact of Sports in Anne Arundel County" with guests Jack Lengyel, director of athletics at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, and Stan Klos of Blumenthal, Wayson, Offutt, Klos & Delavan. Mr. Klos is the president of Piney Orchard Ice Management Inc.
The program airs on Jones Intercable Channel 22 at 7 p.m. Wednesdays and 2 p.m. Fridays, and on TCI Cablevision of Annapolis' Channel 15 at 11 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

Word Masters finish typography for manuals
Word Masters, an Arnold word processing and typography service, recently completed typography on a 500-page Instructor's Resource Manual, "A Mathematical Journey," and a 200-page Student Solutions Manual for McGraw Hill Inc.'s College Division.
Word Masters is also composing the fifth edition of a "Calculus Testbank," to be published by Saunders College Publishing, a division of Harcourt Brace Publishing.

Hobbycrafters moves near mall
Annapolis Hobbycrafters has moved from its location in Parole Plaza in Annapolis to 150-D Jennifer Road, Annapolis Plaza, across from the Annapolis Mall.
The store plans a grand opening celebration for the end of this month.
