Vicki Wellford writes about people, places and events in Gambrills, Hanover, Harmans, Jessup, Maryland City, Odenton and Severn. Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1215 Waugh Chapel Road in Gambrills, will sponsor a music concert beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday. Contemporary Christian, gospel and other musical styles will be presented.
Performers will include Stanton and Deborah Belle, Lynn King and the Rev. John Peper. Admission is free; however, an offering will be taken. A nursery is available, and refreshments are to follow.

As part of Dr. Peper's service, all children are invited for a treat.
Come remember the '50s and '60s at the Gambrills Athletic Club on McKnew Road from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. The Hubcaps will perform in the style of Fats Domino, Elvis, Sam Cooke and many more.

The Gambrills Odenton Recreation Council (GORC) will be having a Halloween Dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday at the Odenton Fire Hall. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $25 per couple or $15 for a single ticket. The price includes entertainment, beer, setups and snacks.
Costumes are requested but not required. Prizes will be awarded.
