Trees to get their due at Md. Forest Festival

The Maryland Forests Association is sponsoring the Maryland Forest Festival, "Seeing the forest and the trees," at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in Crownsville from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow.

At the field day and equipment show, visitors will have a chance to learn about forest products and the contributions forests make to our lives.

Exhibitors from industry, public utilities, government and conservation organizations will come together for the event.

There will be forestry and wildlife exhibitions, tree planting and pruning demonstrations, Maryland Collegiate Forestry Competition, workshops on tree care and backyard wildlife and tree and forestry equipment on display.

Food will be available, and live music by Dakota and Maria Rose will be featured.

Admission is $7 a carload. The first 400 cars will receive a free 1993 Maryland Festival mug.
