Hospital to hold annual gala in Baltimore


Greater Laurel Beltsville Hospital will hold its fourth annual gala from 6:30 p.m. to midnight Oct. 23 at the Inner Harbor Hyatt Regency hotel in Baltimore.

This year's theme is "New York, New York!" Proceeds from the gala will be used to upgrade the hospital's patient care areas.

Corporate table sponsorships cost $2,500 and include a table for 10, a commemorative gift, recognition in the program and priority seating. Also available are 10-person tables for $1,750 and individual tickets for $175.

This year's event is being co-chaired by Dr. Martin Weltz, president of the hospital's medical and dental staff and director of Greater Laurel Beltsville Hospital Foundation; Elaine A. Levin, chairman of the hospital's board of directors; and Alfred H. Smith Jr., GLBH Foundation president, and chairman and chief executive officer of Citizens Bank of Maryland.


* Jessup: 8000 block of Round Moon Circle: Someone stole a gray 1989 Ford Bronco with Maryland tags 300266M late Friday night or early Saturday evening.

* North Laurel: 9200 block of Pinenut Court: A resident returned home Monday and found the house ransacked and an undetermined amount of cash stolen, police said.
