Permanent roundabout being built in Lisbon

The State Highway Administration will convert the temporary roundabout at the intersection of Routes 94 and 144 in Lisbon, south of the Carroll-Howard line, to a permanent roundabout.

The roundabout, Maryland's first, was installed on a test basis in April.

A roundabout at an intersection forces traffic to circulate one way round a central island with circulating traffic having the right-of-way.

Single-lane closures may occur during construction for nonpeak traffic hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Flaggers, message signs, cones and barrels will direct motorists through the construction site.
