Laurel man reports bullet hit his car

A Laurel man reported to police that he had been shot at on Spring Road Wednesday morning.

Tony Lewis, 25, told police that he and Larry Nelson, 18, were driving on Spring Road near Oak Road at 2:25 a.m. when they stopped to talk to a friend.

Mr. Lewis, of the 3500 block of Spring Road in Laurel, told officers that when he started the car and pulled away from the curb, a bullet hit the front of the car. Mr. Lewis drove away and telephoned police.

No one was hurt. Police know of no suspects.

Cheerleaders serve McDonald's fare

Diners at McDonald's in Crofton between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday will be supporting high school cheerleaders' efforts to perform at the Citrus Bowl on New Year's Day.

The cheerleaders will work in the restaurant as hostesses, and 20 percent of the money earned will help pay for their trip.

The Arundel Senior High group qualified to perform at a pregame show if members raise enough money for airfare and hotel rooms.
