2 architects finish state requirements

Marilee Tortorelli and Pam Davison of John E. Harms Jr. and Associates recently completed requirements for becoming registered landscape architects in Maryland.

Ms. Davison is the senior planner within the land planning division at Harms and Associates, which is based in Pasadena.

Ms. Tortorelli manages the Land planning division.

Gardiner to chair membership drive

Francis E. Gardiner Jr. president of Gardiner and Gardiner Inc. has been named area chairman to the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) membership campaign to be held Oct. 19-22 in Annapolis and Southern Maryland.

"For the first time in years, all of us in the construction industry are facing major concerns politically, such as mandated health care, parental leave and striker replacement," Mr. Gardiner said.

During the membership campaign, volunteers will phone nonmembers among general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and other companies involved in the construction industry.

Homoky to direct hospital foundation

North Arundel Hospital has named William J. Homoky executive director of its foundation. Mr. Homoky's responsibilities include raising funds for the hospital through grants, endowments and special events, along with capital campaign drives with area businesses.

Previously the director of foundations at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo., and Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Mr. Homoky lives in Annapolis.

He received his bachelor of science degree in radio and television in 1969 from Indiana University.
