Student reports sexual assault

A 16-year-old student at Fort Meade High School reported to police that she was sexually assaulted in a locker room Sept. 30.

According to police, the student stopped at her locker at 10:30 a.m. and saw a man leaning up against the wall. He asked her to come over to where he was standing. She refused and he forced her up against the wall and fondled her, police said.

She ran home and did not report the incident to school officials until the next day.

School officials did not call police until Tuesday, police spokesman Officer Terry Crowe said.
