Shotgun bandit robs bank in West Friendship
A man armed with a shotgun robbed a West Friendship bank yesterday morning before escaping in a waiting car, county police said.
The armed man walked into the Commercial and Farmers Bank in the 12800 block of Frederick Road about 10:30 a.m. and ordered the tellers to give him cash.
After taking an undisclosed amount of money, police said, the robber ran out the front door and headed to the rear of the bank, where an accomplice waited in a car. The car was last seen traveling east on Frederick Road.
No customers were in the bank during the robbery and no injuries were reported.
The robber was described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 6 feet tall, with a stocky build.
He was said to have been wearing a gray shirt, dark pants, white tennis shoes and a stocking over his face.

The Maryland Association for Bank Security will give a cash reward of up to $2,000 to callers who offer tips leading to the arrest or indictment of the robber.
