Association to discuss issues facing light rail
The Linthicum-Shipley Improvement Association will meet at Linthicum Elementary School at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13 to discuss light-rail issues.
The association began publishing notices in its August newsletter, asking residents to write letters about their views on the light-rail line that cuts through the community.
Of the 19 letters that have come in, most have been positive, citing the convenience and accessibility to Baltimore that the system provides the community, said Susan Hrybyk, who handles publicity and puts the group's newsletter together.
Of the complaints, most have come from people annoyed at the noise of passing trains at night, she said.
Officials of the state Mass Transit Administration are expected to attend the meeting.
