Bandits rob Annapolis couple of car, loot Crownsville house
Two Annapolis residents getting into their car outside a Crownsville residence early yesterday morning were robbed by a pair of gun-wielding bandits who tied them up, stole their car and robbed the house the couple was leaving, police said.
The couple were leaving a house in the 700 block of Paul Birch Drive about 4:30 a.m. when the gunmen entered the driveway and ordered them inside, police said. The suspects tied the victims up and looted the house, taking money, property and the couple's car, police said.
Stray shot just misses woman lying in bed
A Crownsville woman lying in bed narrowly escaped injury Thursday night in a drive-by shooting when a bullet entered her home and landed next to her legs, county police said.
Nine people, ranging in age from 1 to 79, were in the home in the 1200 block of Sunrise Beach Road when the shooting broke out about 11:45 p.m. None were struck by the gunfire.
Police knew of no motive and had no suspects. They said at least three shots were fired at the home from someone in a passing car.
