Teens to help design recreation programs

Baltimore teens are invited to a hearing Nov. 3 to discuss what recreational opportunities they would like.

City Councilman John L. Cain said he wants to strengthen recreational programs for youths who become bored and restless during the summer.

"A lot of them have complained about a lack of things to do," Mr. Cain said Monday night while introducing a resolution to "call attention to the recreational needs of teen-age youth."

The 1st District Democrat said youths have complained that municipal parks close at 11 p.m. and that they often are harassed when they gather outside convenience stores and on street corners.

The hearing is to start at 5 p.m. in the council chambers in City Hall.
