The Orioles will kick off their public sale of 1994 game tickets on Dec. 3 with a second edition of Moonlight Madness at Camden Yards, the club announced yesterday.
About 1.5 million tickets for all home games except Opening Day will go on sale at the ballpark from 4 p.m. until midnight. Customers will be limited in the number of tickets they can purchase.
Fans also can order '94 tickets at Orioles ticket outlets and by telephone starting at 4 p.m. that day.
The Orioles dreamed up Moonlight Madness last year, in part, to relieve the tedium of fans who were waiting in long lines for tickets. They sold about 100,000 tickets during the opening three days of ticket sales last year.
This year's Midnight Madness carnival will be held at various locations around the ballpark and will include tours of the Orioles clubhouse and a charity sale of baseball memorabilia. Orioles Charities and the WBAL Kids Campaign also ask fans to bring toys that will be distributed to underprivileged children.
A club spokesman said that a limited number of tickets to next year's Opening Day will be distributed in a random drawing after Jan. 1.
