Pollution survey scheduled on Weems Creek tributaries
Volunteers are to survey the tributaries of Weems Creek Saturday morning for potential pollution problems.
The Weems Creek Conservancy, an umbrella group representing six resident associations in the watershed, is working with Maryland Save Our Streams to organize the survey.
About 20 volunteers are needed to walk the stream banks and identify and map the potential problems. The information will be used by the county and residents as a guide in protecting and restoring the creek.
Training for the volunteers will begin at 9 a.m. in the Tawes State Office Building, 580 Taylor Ave. in Annapolis. The survey will take place later that morning.
Anyone who wants to participate should call 969-0085.
