Two men rob WAWA store of cash, candy

Two men who suggested they were armed with handguns robbed a Savage convenience store of cash and candy early Friday morning, police said.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Friday, the two men entered a Savage WAWA store in the 9000 block of Washington St. and pretended they were shopping. After browsing, police said, the men approached the clerk at the counter and demanded cash.

Police said the men never showed the clerk a handgun, but threatened the use of one if the worker did not comply. The two suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money and several candy bars.

The first robbery suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet 3 inches with a medium build. He wore tan pants, black boots, a multicolored jacket and a black baseball cap with "Mickey" in purple letters on the back.

Police said his partner was a black male in his mid-20s, about 5 feet 10 inches. He wore a baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call Howard County police at 313-2266.
