THEFT/ARREST: Northwestern District -- A 37-year-old man was arrested Wednesday afternoon when he attempted to leave the Food Depot in the 6800 block of Reisterstown Road without paying for several items.
BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Northwestern District -- Police responding to a burglar alarm at the Baltimore Concrete Co. in the 3000 block of W. Cold Spring Lane Wednesday night entered the building and arrested two men who broke in through a rear door.
THEFT: Northwestern District -- Someone stole the battery from a 1989 Buick Wednesday afternoon while the vehicle was parked in the 4200 block of Park Heights Ave.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 5400 block of Park Heights Ave. was driven to the 2700 block of Enslow Ave. Wednesday morning by two men who robbed her at gunpoint of a watch and $2.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a garage in the 3500 block of Newland Ave. Tuesday or Wednesday and stole two 10-speed bikes valued at $400.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man with a box cutter robbed a resident of the 5800 block of Edgepark Road of nearly $200 as the victim walked in the 3000 block of St. Paul St. Wednesday morning.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a house in the 4900 block of Greenspring Ave. by chiseling a section of wall from a window and stole a TV and a VCR, all valued at more than $700.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- A gunman robbed the B & K food market in the 3000 block of Wylie Ave. of $50 Wednesday morning.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A VCR valued at $400 was stolen from a house in the 700 block of Gorsuch Ave. Wednesday by someone who entered through a window.
ROBBERY: Southern District -- A resident of the 600 block of Shaw Road in Anne Arundel County was in the 1000 block of Light St. Wednesday morning when he was struck by a man who robbed him of $8.
BOAT BURGLARY: Southern District -- Someone entered a 31-foot cabin cruiser docked off the 1400 block of Key Highway between Sept. 4 and Wednesday and stole several tools. The thief also set fire to the vessel's galley, causing minor damage.
BURGLARY: Southern District -- An undisclosed sum was stolen from the All American Family Laundromat in the 1900 block of W. Pratt St. Tuesday.
BURGLARY: Southern District -- The ex-boyfriend of a resident of the 1600 block of Locust St. entered the dwelling Wednesday afternoon and stole stereo equipment valued at more than $300.
THEFT: Southern District -- Someone entered a 1990 Toyota pickup truck parked in the 800 block of McHenry St. through a rear window Tuesday night and stole golf equipment valued at nearly $600.
SHOOTING: Southeastern District -- A resident of the 200 block of Herring Court was in the 200 block of Mason Court late 'D Tuesday night when a gunman shot him in the right thigh. The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital.
BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- A 27-inch TV valued at more than $500 was stolen from a house in the 100 block of N. Rose St. Wednesday by someone who entered through a rear door.
ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- A 71-year-old man was beaten Tuesday night by a man who forced his way into the victim's apartment in the 100 block of S. Broadway and robbed him of $8.
SHOOTING/ARREST: Garrison District -- Melvin Herbert, 31, of the 500 block of Shirley Manor Road in Reisterstown, was charged Wednesday with attempting to kill his pregnant wife and is being held at the police station in lieu of $500,000 bond. He is due to appear at a bail review hearing today. Mr. Herbert, a barber, surrendered at the station about 5 p.m. and had been sought since early Wednesday morning after his wife, Lisa, was shot in the legs during a domestic situation in their home. The gun used in the incident had not been recovered. The wife was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was last reported in stable condition. Police said the fetus was not affected by the shooting.
