Teen sought in wounding of 3 people Man, two children injured in shootings

Three people, including two children, were shot yesterday when a teen-age boy fired several shots at a man he was arguing with in the 2400 block of Brookfield Ave. in Reservoir Hill.

One of the victims, police said, was shot several times and is listed in critical condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

The children were less seriously wounded.

According to Central District police, a teen-ager known as Eric was arguing with Derrick Rivers, 18, of the 2400 block of Lakeview Ave., at 5:45 p.m. when the suspect left and returned moments later with a handgun.

The teen-ager, police said, fired several rounds at Mr. Rivers, hitting him in the chest, stomach, hand, back, left arm and shoulder.

Corey Bradley, 14, of the 900 block of W. Lexington St., was walking nearby when the shots were fired and was struck in the mouth.

An 8-year-old girl, Brittany Rogers, of the 2400 block of Lakeview Ave., was walking with her mother when she was shot in the right knee.

Police said the armed youth fled the scene and that a warrant was to be issued for his arrest, charging him with at least one count of attempted murder, assault by shooting in the wounding of the children and multiple handgun offenses.

Police said young Bradley was taken to Shock Trauma and is listed in stable condition.

The little girl was treated at Maryland General Hospital and was expected to be released.

It was not immediately known what the suspect and Mr. Rivers were arguing about.
